Preventative Pet Health Care

The Animal Doctors’ objective is to keep your pets in optimal condition so that the likelihood of illness is reduced. Vaccinations, parasite control and health checkups play an important role in the long term wellness of our patients.

Dogs need to be vaccinated against distemper, hepatitis, parvovirus, parainfluenza and kennel cough. Cats need to be vaccinated against herpesvirus, calicivirus and feline infectious enteritis. Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV – feline AIDS) vaccination is also available.

A thorough health check is undertaken at the time of your pet’s annual vaccination. This allows us to detect problems of which you might not be aware. This is also an opportunity to discuss your pet’s diet, weight and behaviour – or any other questions that may concern you.

We can also provide advice on the control and eradication of fleas, worms, heartworm, ticks and other parasites.

Our nurses are trained animal health advisors. If you require pet care advice or you’re not sure whether your pet needs to see a vet, please feel free to ask one of our nurses.
